Clients ask us all of the time about weddings at private homes on Nantucket… is it possible?… Is it cost effective?… Is it harder than a wedding at a more traditional venue?… in short, yes! Whether it be a family home on Nantucket, or a rental specifically for the wedding, private home weddings are fabulous! A private home allows for an intimacy that you can’t always obtain in a more traditional venue like a hotel or country club.
Ashlie and Steve’s September wedding encompassed all of the wonderful elements of a private home wedding. They said “I do” at her parent’s Nantucket home surrounded by 150 of their nearest and dearest. Ashlie and Steve wanted a fun and casual backyard wedding- a gracious and unassuming affair with great food and a killer dance party. The bride and her ladies got ready in the bridal suite above her parents garage and they walked down the “aisle” in the backyard Ashlie grew up playing in… in the front yard the peaks of a sperry tent greeted their guests.
The ladies of Soiree Floral were able to work with the beauty already at their home and enhance it with beautiful flowers and pops of fun crystals. Island Kitchen embraced the fun feeling of the wedding with a traditional pig roast in the front yard… classy wedding meets downhome BBQ… huge hit with our guests!! Ashlie and Steve flew in DJ Maple Syrup from their hometown of Los Angeles and he had those guests dancing into the night! This wedding was one for the ages, and all the more special because it was hosted at their own Nantucket home. We know that those special memories will be with Ashlie and Steve forever and that everytime they’re home on Nantucket for a visit they’ll remember the special wedding they shared with their loved ones.
